Alvin Lucier (1931), Letters (1991)
Alvin Lucier's Letters transcribes capital letters onto score accordingly to simple rules: the space traced is within an octave from middle c to c1. The octave cluster on the piano is a vertical line, and straight horizontal lines are represented by sustained tones. Curved lines are traced with glissandi. Using this simple vocabulary Lucier could spell anything in English :)
