По центру зала ходили мужчины и женщины с бейджами "медицинский психолог". По каким-то признакам они догадывались, к кому подойти. Кто-то подходил к ним. В какой-то момент члены штаба привели в зал двух батюшек. К ним тоже подходили люди, разговаривали. Одного молодого парня старенький священник напоследок бодро хлопнул по плечу: держись, мол.
Помимо сотрудников МЧС, медиков, психологов, полицейских и батюшек, в зале работали сотрудники Пулково. Они пришли сюда сами, по собственной воле.
– Я сама работала в Пулково и всех их знаю, – рассказала худенькая девушка. Она приехала поддержать жениха, у него в самолёте летела мама. – Эти ребята все – с ночной смены. Вместо того чтобы домой ехать, они пришли сюда и сами предложили помощь. А видите – парень в клетчатой рубашке? У него только-только ребёнок родился, он теперь после каждой смены очень спешит к ним. А тут остался.
Парень в клетчатой рубашке проработает ещё одну смену плюс к своей ночной. Он уедет из отеля в девятом часу.
В фойе работники гостиницы поставили столы с чаем, кофе и выпечкой. Позже принесли бутерброды. Тем, кто решит ждать новостей до утра, пообещали горячий ужин.
За столиком пили чай двое мужчин. Совсем молодой и постарше.
– Я жену несостоявшуюся потерял, – сказал тот, что постарше, и кивнул на молодого. – А он – несостоявшуюся тёщу.
Мама и дочка затевали сразу две свадьбы. Они одновременно нашли женихов. Тут подвернулись путёвки дешёвые, три штуки. Ни один из мужчин полететь не мог, взяли с собой соседку и отправились загорать "девичником". Их мужчины познакомились в Пулково.
– Мы ведь с ней увиделись-то мельком, один день, – опустил голову тот, что постарше. – Я сам был в Египте, в Хургаде. Вернулся 15-го, а она улетала 16-го. Вместе не получалось отдохнуть, отпуска не совпали. Сейчас думаю: уж лучше бы вместе…

Граждане Украины и Белоруссии. Их родным помогут добраться до Петербурга. Им тоже будут задавать вопросы о металлических украшениях и содержимом чемоданов, у них тоже возьмут анализ ДНК.
