Звонит домофон:
- Кто там?
- (детский голос) Откройте, пожалуйста, дверь.
- (Я подумал, что ребёнок кнопками ошибся) А в какую квартиру?
- (вздох) Мы тут в прятки играем, а мой друг в парадной спрятался и выходить не хочет.
Я открыл, послушал забег по лестнице, потом выглянул в окно - и правда: бегают, во дворе играют, прячутся.
Есть ещё нормальное детство, Карл!

- (sigh) We're playing hide and seek here, but my friend hid in the front door and doesn't want to go out.
I opened it, listened to the run up the stairs, then looked out the window - and it was true: they were running, playing in the yard, hiding.
