Я чувствую свою огромную ответственность за них, потому что христианин и священник научен брать на себя всю вину мира, все грехи мира и говорить самому себе и другим, что он виноват во всем. Да, я виноват в большой степени. Черная ряса, которую ношу, притягивает к себе весь свет, она означает, что я ношу в себе и на себе боль людей, скорбь людей, которая очерняет их душу, терзает их и причиняет им боль.
Черная ряса означает, что я живу не для себя, что моя жизнь распята. Она означает, что я передаю Христово послание, благую, радостную и счастливую весть и что ношу в себе целительную силу, которая может преобразить мир. Она означает, что я держу в своих руках Христа и передаю Его людям, она означает, что я принял Духа Святого («Примите Духа Святаго!» (Ин. 20:22)), чтобы прощать грехи, исцелять душевные болезни, помогать людям восстать из своего падения и устремить свой взор к светлому горизонту, чтобы они видели Бога, выкарабкивались из своей ямы и обретали смелость в жизни. Вот что означает ряса, которую я ношу, – она означает, что я священник и, соответственно, христианин. А ответственность наша, христиан, и нашей Церкви огромна.
Для людей мы – икона Христа в начале их знакомства с Церковью. Немногие познают Господа напрямую, через Божественное откровение, через какое-нибудь видение, через некое чувство, которое они стяжают в молитве. Большинство познают Христа и Его присутствие через других людей.
Святитель Иоанн Златоуст говорит, что если есть один человек в квартале, один достойный христианин в городе, один святой человек, то весь город переменился бы, он повлиял бы на всех людей.

I feel my enormous responsibility for them, because a Christian and a priest are taught to take upon himself all the guilt of the world, all the sins of the world and tell himself and others that he is to blame for everything. For people we are an icon of Christ at the beginning of their acquaintance with the Church. Few people know the Lord directly, through Divine revelation, through some kind of vision, through some kind of feeling that they acquire in prayer. Most come to know Christ and His presence through other people.
St. John Chrysostom says that if there is one person in the quarter, one worthy Christian in the city, one holy person, then the whole city would change, it would affect all people.
