Существующее количество священников (около 17 000 на территории РФ на 2011 г.) физически неспособно регулярно взаимодействовать с большим числом верующих, чем 2−7% населения РФ (от 6 619 до 9 722 тыс. чел.).
Требуется от 43,7 тыс. до 135,8 тыс. священников, т. е. увеличение существующего корпуса духовенства в 2−6 раз.
Именно такое увеличение количества священников выведет на уровень соотношения мирян и священников, примерно соответствующий уровню православных стран, где не было гонений подобных тем, что пережила Русская Православная Церковь.
