Отцы Церкви учат нас не предаваться мыслям о том, почему произошло то или иное событие. Святой авва Марк Подвижник, этот учитель духовного закона, хорошо говорит, что когда в твою жизнь приходит искушение, скорбь, что-то трудное и тяжелое, не пытайся понять, почему это с тобой случилось, но задумайся, как это претерпеть без уныния, смущения, не изматывая себя, не теряя своей духовной сущности. Еще проще говорит святой Паисий: извлеки духовную пользу из искушения. Отцов не занимает вопрос, почему что-то случилось. Их занимает вопрос, как случившееся претерпеть.
Какой смысл копаться в том, почему это случилось? Отцы ответили: по нашим грехам. Не по грехам мира. По моим собственным. Грехи – причина искушений. Я не могу сказать, что грехи мира привели к этой трудной ситуации. Наши грехи! Наши братья не грешны. Грешны мы. Лично каждый из нас. Но когда во всем мире происходит большое искушение, не время испытывать угрызения совести и чувство вины. Время понять, как искушение встретить духовно и извлечь из него духовную пользу.
Сейчас людям необходимо утешение. Сейчас не время упрекать людей. В трудный час не укоряют, а утешают, поддерживают, просвещают, направляют. Когда искушение закончится, кто-то, может, и рассмотрит причины, упущения, преувеличения, недостатки, дабы извлечь пользу из наших ошибок. Теперь же час утешения, взаимной поддержки, горячей, огненной молитвы за весь мир. Нам, людям Церкви, особенно важно объяснить слово Божие тем, кто нуждается в утешении от Господа.

Now is the hour of consolation, mutual support, fervent, fiery prayer for the whole world. It is especially important for us people of the Church to explain the word of God to those who need comfort from the Lord.
