Что на похожей машинке (Royal Quiet Deluxe) работал Хемингуэй, а Флеминг писал свои первые романы про Джеймса Бонда. Этот Royal, как оказалось, был одной из крупнейших фирм — производителей машинок в мире. Свой миллионный экземпляр они собрали в 1926 году. А в 1929-м уже сбрасывали машинки на парашютах. Это была экспресс-доставка для дилеров Восточного побережья и одновременно реклама: «Наши машинки самые прочные в мире».
Действительно, из 11 тысяч сброшенных разбилось только несколько штук.

That on a similar typewriter (Royal Quiet Deluxe) Hemingway worked, and Fleming wrote his first novels about James Bond. This Royal, as it turned out, was one of the largest manufacturers of typewriters in the world. They collected their millionth copy in 1926. And in 1929, they had already dumped cars on parachutes.
