полагаю, многие из вас вообще там давно не были. ;) Я же ходила всегда с разной периодичностью. Что для меня библиотека: тишина, прерываемая шуршанием страниц, шепот, интеллигентные, прочитавшие все книги, библиотекари, запах книжной пыли. Короче, тишина и интеллигентность.да.
Я люблю библиотеки. И вот нашла их и тут, в Шугар Ленде, по навигатору. Мы приехали с Мирусей на разведку.Записать нас, правда, не смогли, потому что не было необходимых документов, но проводить время позволено без ограничений.
Я даже сейчас не знаю с чего вам начать описание, так всего много... Начну со входа чтоли.
Перед дверью в стене такая есть щель, в которую можно в любое время дня и ночи просто кинуть (сдать) книгу. Поскольку у каждой книги есть специальный чип, то без проблем работник библиотеки (а может и вовсе робот?) определит кто сдал книгу. Чип содержит всю информацию о книге и о том, кто ее взял.
Набрав нужное количество литературы, ты не идешь к сидящим в изобилии вокруг тебя библиотечным работникам (зачем их столько?) ты просто подходишь к специальному компьютеру, прикладываешь свой штрихкод читателя. На табло высвечиваются твои данные, далее кладешь книгу на какое-то подобие весов и автоматически книга прикрепляется к твоему номеру (!!!) космос, я вам скажу. Из этого компьютера вылезает чек, с указанием даты когда книгу надо вернуть. Можно будет продлить по электронной почте. Но если безосновательно задержать книгу у себя дольше трех недель – штраф. Порча книги – штраф. У меня у знакомой ребенок книгу прогрыз, так пришлось им её выкупать ????
Книг можно брать сколько хочешь. В среднем люди берут по 10-30 (!)
Детская и взрослая библиотека всегда в одном здании. Что очень удобно
Самих библиотек в округе 11. То есть, как бы, если бы в Красном Селе было 4, в Тайцах 2, Горелово и там еще в прочих деревнях по библиотеке (!)
И в них всегда много народа!
Библиотека в США это не просто книжные шкафы и тишина – это место, где можно провести целый день и уйти очень довольным, сделав все свои дела.
Компьютеры есть для детей с развивающими программками, тут же рядом куча игрушек, чтобы было чем занять дите, пока выбираешь себе что почитать. В отделении для взрослых на этаж выше, можно совершенно бесплатно пользоваться интернетом, работать, печатать документы на принтере и делать копии.
Регулярно происходят какие-то движухи. Такое плотное расписание занятий от уроков по зумбе до вязания, от лекций по правам человека до уроков английского, что просто не успеть все посетить.
Из чисто библиотекарских занятий - обсуждение книг. Регулярно происходят встречи желающих обсудить прочитанную книгу. Можно записаться в семейный клуб чтения и тем самым обязать себя читать ребенку книги =) за месяц, кажется, надо прочитать 36 книг, тогда тебе дадут в подарок сумочку и ты получишь шанс выиграть поход в ресторан. Таким образом стимулируется чтение детям. Книжки для малышей почти без текста, поэтому просмотреть одну-две за день более чем реально.
Мы же туда ходим на toddler time
Tod - это ребенок с года до трех. Два раза в неделю они там проходят, в 10.30 начало , в 11.15 конец. За это время малыши (коих набирается штук 20-30 всех национальностей) вместе со своими мамами (естественно) поют песенки, повторяют забавные движения за ведущей. Изучают какую-нибудь тему, например, овечек или цифры по средствам того, что им показывают и читают красивую детскую книгу (а то и три книги) на данную тему. Обязательно в программе puppet show то есть кукольный театр. Сюжет привязан к теме. Изучали овечек – на сцене овечки. И для закрепления эффекта - craft time (время для рукоделия): выдаются заготовки и коробочки с клеем и цветными карандашам. Естественно, клеим и раскрашиваем овечку или обезьянку, согласно пройденной теме.
Несмотря на то, что книжных полок в американских домах я не встречала, то есть читающими как -то не назовешь эту нацию (да что там читающими, многие не сразу скажут где Вашингтон находится и с какими штатами граничит Техас) так вот, несмотря на это, библиотеки здесь очень популярны и живы. Живее всех живых! Слава библиотекам!

I guess many of you haven't been there for a long time. ;) I always went with different frequency. What is a library for me: silence, interrupted by the rustling of pages, whispers, intelligent, who have read all the books, librarians, the smell of book dust. In short, silence and intelligence. Yes.
I love libraries. And then I found them here, in Sugar Land, using the navigator. We arrived with Mirusya for reconnaissance. True, we were not able to sign us up, because there were no necessary documents, but spending time was allowed without restrictions.

Despite the fact that I have not met bookshelves in American homes, that is, somehow you cannot call this nation reading (yes, reading there, many will not immediately say where Washington is located and which states Texas borders on) and so, despite this , the libraries are very popular and alive here.
