Так совпало, что на днях я читал новую книгу шведского биографа о Рауле Валленберге, спасшем 100 тысяч евреев Будапешта, и видел в СМИ картинки забитых вокзалов Венгрии, Австрии, Германии с грязью и толпами исламских беженцев. Видел это нашествие в Европу — и, читая книгу, я понимал, ЗА ЧТО оно.
Один из сотни случаев, описанных в книге: 11 декабря 1944 года молодому шведскому дипломату сообщают, что на станции Келенфёльд к западу от Будапешта уже много дней на морозе стоят 50 товарных вагонов, набитых евреями, предназначенными к депортации. Всё это время людей не кормят. Среди евреев в поезде были люди, уже однажды депортированные, но чудом возвращенные домой.
Рауль Валленберг мчится на станцию, пытается остановить депортацию тысяч запертых евреев, вывозимых на уничтожение. От имени шведской миссии он пишет ноту протеста в МИД Венгрии, но венгры торопятся отправить своих евреев на смерть — и 19 декабря эшелон покидает Будапешт и едет в перевалочный лагерь на австрийской границе.
Валленберг направляет 21 декабря меморандум протеста правительству Венгрии против преследования евреев: «Марши депортируемых продолжаются. В гетто, в нетопленых комнатах лежат тысячи больных, без матрасов и одеял, с питанием в четверть от нормального. На набережной Дуная евреев расстреливают без суда». В первые дни января 1945 года Валленберг просит немецкого генерала вермахта остановить погромы и убийства евреев Будапешта, которые творят банды венгерских боевиков-нилашистов по собственной инициативе.

All this time people are not fed. Among the Jews on the train were people who had already been deported once, but were miraculously returned home.
Raoul Wallenberg rushes to the station, trying to stop the deportation of thousands of locked Jews who are being taken out for extermination. On behalf of the Swedish mission, he writes a note of protest to the Hungarian Foreign Ministry, but the Hungarians are in a hurry to send their Jews to their death - and on December 19, the train leaves Budapest and travels to the transshipment camp on the Austrian border.
Wallenberg sends a memorandum of protest to the Hungarian government against the persecution of Jews on December 21: “The marches of the deportees continue. In the ghetto, in unheated rooms, there are thousands of patients, without mattresses and blankets, with a quarter of the normal food. On the Danube embankment, Jews are shot without trial. For the crimes of the Second World War - and to put this repentance into practice today, letting its future killers into the heart of Europe, who fiercely hate not only Jews and Israel, but also the very essence of Europe civilization.
Europe, come to your senses before it's too late. Not all trains have left - they can still be stopped.
