Гуляя по Васильевскому, неожиданно набрел на петербургскую цитадель дореволюционных барышень-революционерок - совсем забыл что на 10 линии располагаются Высшие женские курсы.
Сейчас подробно изучаю документы 1902- 1903 годов - фактически массовые волнения студентов и курсисток прекратились после умеренных, но долгожданных реформ министра просвещения Ванновского и разгрома подполья подчиненными министра внутренних дел Плеве. Затишье окажется недолгим и закончится с первыми поражениями России в войне с Японией. Но в этот период возникали нестандартные ситуации... Еще недавно протестные формы действий становятся "мирными" и хоть они и не разрешены и вызывают нервозность у начальства, но не рождают ответных репрессий властей. На ВЖК в октябре 1902 года состоялась неразрешенная сходка, но не повлекшая кары. Любопытный отрывок из доклада попечителя учебного округа о настроении курсисток и о спорах в их среде вообще, которые стали обыденностью для любого факультета в наши дни.
«Инспектрису и ее помощницу собравшиеся на сходку слушательницы выслушивали вполне почтительно и отвечали лишь, что после угрозы переписать не ушедших им уже нельзя разойтись, не уронив своего достоинства. В зале возле аудитории, где была сходка, Директор многих слушательниц, идущих на сходку, отговаривал от их намерения, и тоже не заметил ни малейшего враждебного настроения к администрации. Все лекции во время сходки шли вполне спокойно при обычном составе аудитории… Уходя со сходки слушательницы сами охотно записывали свои фамилии на листках, выложенных инспекцией возле лестницы, ведущей из аудитории, хотя большинство из них имело полную возможность уйти незамеченными инспекцией… Это совещание слушательниц Директор называет сходкой только потому, что была выбрана председательница совещания. В силу особенного быта Курсов крайне трудно провести границу между сходками и вполне законными разговорами, которые ведутся большими группами, обыкновенно между многолюдными лекциями. На Курсах слушательницы всегда держатся группами, среди которых не умолкают споры и рассуждения на всевозможные темы. Очень часто такие группы удаляются в первую попавшуюся свободную комнату, чтобы не мешать другим. Даже выбор председательницы в последнее время перестает быть признаком сходки, так как слушательницы во время своих даже чисто научных споров, которые нередко ведутся среди большой группы, стали поручать одной из участниц наблюдать за очередью говорящих»

“The listeners who attended the gathering listened to the Inspector and her assistant quite respectfully and answered only that after threatening to rewrite those who had not left, they could no longer leave without losing their dignity. In the hall near the auditorium where the gathering was held, the Director of many students attending the gathering dissuaded them from their intentions, and also did not notice the slightest hostile mood towards the administration. All lectures during the gathering went quite calmly with the usual audience ... When leaving the gathering, the listeners themselves willingly wrote down their names on the sheets laid out by the inspection near the stairs leading from the audience, although most of them had the full opportunity to leave unnoticed by the inspection ... The Director calls this meeting of listeners meeting only because the chair of the meeting was chosen. Owing to the special life of the Courses, it is extremely difficult to draw a line between gatherings and quite legitimate conversations that are conducted by large groups, usually between crowded lectures. At the Courses, students are always held in groups, among which disputes and discussions on various topics do not stop. Very often, such groups are removed to the first available free room so as not to disturb others.
