Смотрите, пацаны, что расскажу. Раньше я не любил Черепах. Черепашек-ниндзя, то есть. Они меня бесили, в основном из-за того, что все их так любят, причём любовь эта зачастую только на ностальгии и основывается. А потом в какой-то момент я прочитал самые первые выпуски классических чёрно-белых черепах от Истмена и Лерда и дико пропёрся. Шутка ли, ведь это же мечта. Два чувака в гараже сделали какой-то треш и превратили это в многомиллионную франшизу. Я тоже так хочу, и обязательно когда-нибудь сделаю. Но история не об этом.
Я заказывал всех черепах в обложках алтимейт-коллекции ещё по бумстартеру, и очень этим доволен. В какой-то момент дело дошло до юмористического сборника "Черепашьи Сны" (ха-ха, почти черепаший блейдраннер, сейчас это модно), и его я тоже заказал. [id21302824|Арсений] обещал мне какой-то сюрприз, но я не придал этому значения.
Сегодня забрал книжку с почты, в посылке ещё обнаружил открытку и две типографские пластины. Решил не открывать их сразу, чтобы не попортить. Через несколько часов всё же открыл - и офигел.
Внимание на первые иллюстрации. "Чтооо" - подумал я и тут же написал Арсению, спросил, легально ли это вообще? Ответ Арсения расставил всё на свои места
"Там была надпись "SCOOTER production", и я решил спросить у Мартина, что он имел виду - самокаты или скутеры, а он вдруг ответил, что вообще-то это просто фамилия его друга, и если у меня есть желание, я могу заменить название на фамилию кого-то из своих друзей. Так что я решил, что прикольно будет написать того, кого узнают."
Твою мать, это дико приятно и вообще. У меня просто нет слов, если честно. И, пользуясь случаем, я покажу ещё вот эту штуку - это первый том с автографом Кевина Истмена (создателя черепашек, если вы пропустили), я просил его о простой подписи, честное слово.
Так я прошёл свой путь от рептилоненавистника до черепашьего друга. Это удивительная история. И таких, я уверен, будет ещё немало. Уху! Живая съёмка!

Look, boys, what I’ll tell. I used to not like Turtles. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, that is. They infuriated me, mainly due to the fact that everyone loves them so much, and this love is often based only on nostalgia.
