Недавно увидел кавер по телеку в баре. В исполнении группы Bad Wolves.
Оказалось, что вокалистка The Cranberries, Долорес О'Риордан, собиралась с ними её исполнить, но через пару дней после подписания всех бумажек умерла.
15 января 2018 года это произошло.
В итоге они сами релизнули кавер и все вырученные деньги направили её детям.
А изначально эту песню Долорес написала в ответ на то, что из-за теракта в 1993 году в Англии погибли двое детей.
И строчка в оригинале:
«It’s the same old theme since 1916» подразумевает Пасхальное восстание, поднятое в 1916 году с целью обретения независимости Ирландией.
А в кавер-версии это:
«It's the same old theme in two thousand eighteen» понятно о чём.
Отака хуйня, малята!
