В народном календаре - Мокий Мокрый, в память о священномученике Мокие, ожидали дождей и не особо утруждались работой в поле, считалось даже если в этот день выйти в поле, то потом град обязательно уничтожит посевы. А вот дождь ждали - старались под ним вымокнуть, особенно девушки, чтобы волосы были блестящими, сильными и красивыми. Мокий Мокрый - указчик погоды на всё лето: если день выдавался дождливый или туманный — то и лето будет сырым: «Мокро на Мокея — жди лета еще мокрее», а багровый восход солнца обещал лето грозное, с пожарами.
