История оставила за этим днём следующие события: в 1811 открыт Императорский Царскосельский лицей — высшее учебное заведение в дореволюционной России, в 1870 Россия инициировала отмену нейтрализации Черного моря, что являлось крупным успехом российской дипломатии - отныне Россия могла держать в этой зоне неограниченное количество своих военных кораблей и строить военные базы, что послужило основой для восстановления позиций, утраченных в результате Крымской войны, в 1873 в в юго-восточной части кронштадтского Летнего сада установлен Памятник погибшим на клипере "Опричник", в 1884 впервые на сцене Мариинского театра поставлена опера «Евгений Онегин», в 1886 в Кронштадте, перед зданием бывшего Штурманского училища, открыт памятник работы Н. И. Лаверецкого исследователю Новой Земли, уроженцу Кронштадта, подпоручику Петру Пахтусову, в 1892 Артур Конан Дойль опубликовал книгу «Приключения Шерлока Холмса», в 1941 в США завершено сооружение национального мемориала США на горе Рашмор, в 1943 постановлением ГКО № 4479, на вооружение Красной армии был принят ИС-2, в 1967 в СССР учреждён Орден Октябрьской Революции, в 1985 образована группа «Ария», в 2011 согласно расчётам Фонда народонаселения ООН, на Земле родился семимиллиардный житель, а в 2015 произошел страшный теракт в небе над Синаем - катастрофа А321, следовавшего в Петербург.
