Готовясь к постановке "Укрощение строптивой", решил прочитать оригинальный текст Шекспира.
Если есть среди моих друзей знатоки английского, буду признателен за помощь в наиболее точном переводе 4той строчки этого четверостишия и в пояснении смысла этого четверостишия:
"Did ever Dian so become a grove
As Kate this chamber with her princely gait?
O, be thou Dian, and let her be Kate;
And then let Kate be chaste and Dian sportful!"
И еще, подскажите, пожалуйста, какую Диану имел ввиду Шекспир? У меня была версия, что Диану из пьесы Де Веги "Собака на сене", но "Укрощение", вроде, было опубликовано раньше.
Кто поможет разобраться, получит пригласительные на премьеру:)
