Открытие Московской соборной мечети - самой большой в Европе
Московская соборная мечеть после реставрации была увеличена по площади в 20 раз. Теперь ее площадь составляет более 19 тысяч квадратных метров, что позволит собираться на намаз одновременно 10 тысячам верующих. Шестиэтажный храм оснащен семью лифтами и всем необходимым для прихожан, а также оборудованием для людей с ограниченными возможностями. В нескольких залах установлены большие плоские экраны, которые будут транслировать происходящее в центральном зале соборной мечети. Высота главного купола составляет 46 метров, диаметр — 27 метров.
Президент России заверил, что "государство будет и впредь помогать воссозданию отечественной мусульманской богословской школы, своей системы религиозного образования". "Как вы знаете, мною поддержано предложение руководства Татарстана и ведущих духовных управлений мусульман о создании Булгарской исламской академии", — отметил, в частности, Путин.
На открытие мечети также приехали глава Чечни Рамзан Кадыров, президент Татарстана Рустам Минниханов, глава Ингушетии Юнус-Бек Евкуров, президент Дагестана Рамазан Абдулатипов.
