При произнесении отрывка, начинающегося словами «Пусть будет сладость...» на исходе Субботы — дважды произносят стих «Долголетием...», но не удваивают его во время произнесения этого стиха в утренней молитве.
Когда Цемах-Цедек был ребенком и учил в Писании: «Жил Яков в земле Египта 17 лет», — учитель перевел ему эти слова, в соответствии с комментарием «Баал-аТурим»: «17 лучших своих лет Яков прожил в земле Египта».
Когда Цемах-Цедек пришел домой из хедера, он спросил своего дедушку — Алтер Ребе:
— Как возможно, что лучшими годами Якова, называемого «избранным из отцов», были 17 лет, проведенных им в Египте?
И ответил ему Алтер Ребе:
— Написано: «И Йеуду послал перед ним к Йосефу, наставлять перед ним в Гошен1». Написано в Мидраше и приводится в комментарии РаШИ: «Рабби Нехемья говорит: Послал Йеуду основать там йешиву, для того, чтобы была там в Египте Тора, чтобы колена2 разбирались в Торе». «Наставлять перед ним в Гошен3», — изучая Тору, становятся ближе ко Святому, благословен Он, в такой степени, что даже в Египте остаются наполнены жизненностью.
1 Гошен — название провинции Египта, в которой поселились евреи.
2 (Здесь) сыновья Яакова.
3 Гошен — однокоренное слово с «нигаш» — приступил, приблизился.

When pronouncing the passage beginning with the words “Let it be sweet ...” at the end of the Sabbath, the verse “Longevity ...” is twice pronounced, but do not double it during the recitation of this verse in morning prayer.
When Tsemah-Tsedek was a child and taught in the Scriptures: “Jacob lived in the land of Egypt for 17 years”, the teacher translated these words to him, according to the commentary “Baal-a-Turim”: “Jacob lived his best 17 years in the land of Egypt.”
When Zemah-Tzedek came home from a header, he asked his grandfather - Alter Rebbe:
- How is it possible that the best years of Jacob, called the “chosen one from the fathers”, were the 17 years he spent in Egypt?
And Alter Rebbe answered him:
- It is written: "And Yehud sent before him to Yosef, to instruct him in Goshen1." It is written in Midrash and is quoted in Rashi's commentary: “Rabbi Nehemiah says: He sent Yehud to establish a yeshiva there, so that the Torah would be there in Egypt, so that the tribes2 would understand the Torah.” “To instruct him in Goshen3”, studying the Torah, they become closer to the Holy One, blessed by Him, to such an extent that even in Egypt they remain filled with vitality.
1 Goshen - the name of the province of Egypt in which the Jews settled.
2 (Here) the sons of Jacob.
3 Goshen - the root word with "nigash" - proceeded, approached.
