Сказал Раби Йегошуа Гакоген бар Нахман: Сказал Всевышний Моше: Иди сосчитай сынов Израиля. Ответил Моше: как же могу их сосчитать ведь сказано: «И будет потомство твое как прах земной» и «А сыны Израиля числом будут как песок морской, который не измерить и не исчислить», а Ты говоришь мне идти и сосчитать? Я не смогу этого сделать(не имею права, ведь ты обещал им)!
Сказал ему Святой Благословенный, возьми первые буквы имен их и так будешь знать счет их!
Рейш от Реувена- 200 тысяч,
Нун от Нафтоли- 50 тысяч,
Шин от Шимона- 300 тысяч,
Йюд от Йегуды- 10 тысяч,
Йуд от Йисахара- 10 тысяч,
Йуд от Йосефа- 10 тысяч,
Заин от Звулуна- 7 тысяч,
Далет от Дана- 4 тысячи,
Гимел от Гада- 3 тысячи,
Бет от Биньямина- 2 тысячи,
