В этот раз я решил разобраться, что же такое "ригель"?!
На стройке и среди проектировщиков это популярное словечко.
Википедия затруднилась однозначно ответить на этот вопрос:
Ри́гель — многозначный термин,
означающий:
Ригель — опорная балка, на которую опираются другие несущие элементы строительного сооружения (балки, стойки, колонны, стены).
Ригель — часть засова, вступающая в контакт с ответной частью замка.
Ригель — инструмент для изготовления звеньев цепей, колец и т. д.
Ригель — выступающий участок дна или склона ледниковой долины.
Ригель — яркая околоэкваториальная звезда, β Ориона.
Ригель — коммуна в Германии, в федеральной земле Баден-Вюртемберг.
Ригель — норвежское и германское судно.
Ригель (род) — род осы семейства megalyridae из Чили.

At a construction site and among designers this is a popular word.
