Of all the books about Paris, this is special. I really fell in love with Saint-Germain many years ago, but the contemporary one does not at all convey the feeling of that sweeping Saint-Germain of the 50s about whom Boris Vian and Raymond Keno wrote. Of course, all the famous writer's cafes Flor, Lipp, De Mago exist, but they are essentially only sketchy monuments of that era, and there is no trace left of numerous nightclubs. I always wanted to buy a guidebook on Saint-Germain of the 50s, in order to understand in which nooks and crannies to look for the tracks of Sartre, Beauvoir, Camus, Vian, Keno, Gainsbourg, Greco, Roger Vadim and many others. The most interesting thing is that I found this book in a book called "L'écume des pages", located a stone's throw from the Cafe de Flor. In general, this is an excellent guide with addresses, history and main characters, perfectly conveys all the most important things that happened at Saint Germain after the war and what happened to all the main places of the heart of existentialism and the times of Yo-Yo # book # Paris # Sengermen #saintgermain
