«Амфитрион» Мольера — первая работа Мастерской Фоменко с приглашённым режиссёром-иностранцем. Выбор пал на Кристофа Рока (Christophe Rauck) не случайно. Его открыли для себя одномоментно две ведущие актрисы театра, когда в 2010 году Комеди Франсез привёз на гастроли «Женитьбу Фигаро» Бомарше в постановке нашего героя. Актрисы почувствовали удивительное сходство режиссуры Кристофа с почерком Петра Наумовича Фоменко. Эта вкусовая близость двух эстетик позволила задуматься о возможном сотрудничестве.
Осенью 2016 года Мастерская Фоменко пригласила Кристофа Рока, чтобы он вместе со своей командой провёл серию мастер-классов на тему французского театра. В результате этой совместной работы в рамках мастер-классов и родился спектакль «Амфитрион».
Мольеровский «Амфитрион» — переделка пьесы римского драматурга Плавта о том, как Юпитер чуть не свел с ума полководца Амфитриона, явившись его жене Алкмене в облике ее мужа Амфитриона, в результате чего был рожден Геракл. Пьеса написана в то время, когда развивался роман Людовика XIV с маркизой де Монтеспан, чей муж был на время посажен в Бастилию, чтобы не путался под ногами. Обычно разыгрывалась как уморительная комедия об адюльтере.

Amphitrion Moliere is the first work of the Fomenko Workshop with a guest foreign director. The choice fell on Christophe Rauck (Christophe Rauck) is not accidental. It was discovered simultaneously by two leading theater actresses when, in 2010, Comedy Frances brought on the tour “Behar Marriage of Figaro” directed by our hero. Actresses felt the amazing similarity between the direction of Christophe and the handwriting of Pyotr Naumovich Fomenko. This taste affinity of two aesthetics allowed us to think about a possible collaboration.
In the fall of 2016, Fomenko’s workshop invited Christoph Rock to conduct a series of workshops on the topic of the French theater with his team. As a result of this joint work in the framework of the master classes, the play "Amphitrion" was born.
Moliere's Amphitrion is an alteration of the play of the Roman playwright Plaut about how Jupiter nearly drove the commander Amphitrion crazy, appearing to his wife Alkmene in the guise of her husband Amphitrion, as a result of which Hercules was born. The play was written at the time when the novel of Louis XIV was developing with the Marquise de Montespan, whose husband was temporarily put in the Bastille, so as not to get under his feet. Usually played out as a hilarious comedy about adultery.
