В основу спектакля абхазской студии «Вечер в Сорренте» положен рассказ Ивана Сергеевича Тургенева. Также в нем звучат тексты Николая Васильевича Гоголя, сонеты Франческо Петрарки, Джеронимо Претти, Януара Фаберже.
Перед нами история об одном лишь вечере в Италии, в гостинице на берегу моря, где отдыхают вместе Надежда Павловна Елецкая, вдова 30 лет, Алексей Николаевич Бельский, молодой человек 28 лет, встретивший Елецкую в Риме и очарованный ею, племянница Надежды Павловны - восемнадцатилетняя Мария Петровна и Сергей Платонович Аваков – немолодой человек 45 лет, любящий Надежду Павловну и потому отправившийся с ней в путешествие.
Спектакль – как и история, рассказанная Тургеневым, – лёгок и быстр, как вечерний бриз. Его наполняют хитросплетения человеческих чувств и ощущение того, что только то и постоянно, что длится на морском побережье всего один вечер…

Before us is the story of an evening in Italy alone, in a hotel on the seashore, where Nadezhda Pavlovna Eletskaya, a widow of 30 years old, Alexei Nikolayevich Belsky, a young man of 28 years old, who met Eletskaya in Rome and was fascinated by her, the niece of Nadezhda Pavlovna, is eighteen-year-old Maria Petrovna and Sergey Platonovich Avakov - a middle-aged man of 45 years old, loving Nadezhda Pavlovna and therefore went on a trip with her.
The play - like the story told by Turgenev - is light and fast, like an evening breeze. It is filled with the intricacies of human feelings and the feeling that only one thing is constant and lasts only one evening on the sea coast ...
