The charm of Beaumarchais's comedy did not fade, its energy, excitement, irony, humor, virtuosity of intrigue over the years seemed to have gained even more sharpness and brilliance. And although Figaro today is interesting for us not as a harbinger of the revolution, which outraged the ruling class in Paris during the premiere of the performance, the national hero attracts with his independence, resourcefulness, restless spirit of the seeker. ”
