Роман Виктюк ввел в знаменитую пьесу биографию самого Оскара Уайльда. Ведущий актер Театра Дмитрий Бозин исполняет сразу две роли – иудейской царевны Саломеи и Альфреда Дугласа, любовь к которому лишила Уайльда всего. Оскар Фингал О’Флаэрти Уиллс Уайльд (1854–1900) – один из гениев, которых подарила миру Ирландия. Проза, поэзия, драматургия – ему были подвластны все литературные жанры. Его комедии не сходят с театральных подмостков. Его «Баллада Рэддингской тюрьмы» увлекает все новых и новых поклонников. Тайна его романа «Портрет Дориана Грея» не устает волновать воображение романтиков всех возрастов. А исповедальная искренность «De Profundis» потрясает и заставляет задуматься над сутью человеческого бытия. Поэтическая драма «Саломея» в России была запрещена царской цензурой, но в 1917 году к ней одновременно обратились Малый театр (титульную роль исполнила Ольга Гзовская) и Камерный (Саломея – Алиса Коонен, Иоканаан – Николай Церетели, художник спектакля – Александра Экстер, режиссер спектакля – Александр Таиров). Роман Виктюк вслед за Таировым отказался от историко-бытового воспроизведения сюжета, превратив уайльдовскую «Саломею» в завораживающую притчу о пути художника в мире, где соседствуют любовь и смерть. Сегодня «Саломея» стала своеобразной визитной карточкой Театра Романа Виктюка, воплотив самые яркие и экзотичные черты стиля режиссера.

His comedies do not leave the theatrical stage. His “Ballad of the Redding Prison” captivates more and more fans. The secret of his novel “Portrait of Dorian Gray” never ceases to excite the imagination of romantics of all ages. And the confessional sincerity of “De Profundis” is shocking and makes you think about the essence of human existence. The poetic drama "Salome" in Russia was banned by royal censorship, but in 1917 it was addressed to both the Maly Theater (the title role was played by Olga Gzovskaya) and the Chamber (Salome - Alisa Koonen, Iokanaan - Nikolai Tsereteli, the artist of the play - Alexandra Exter, the director of the play - Alexander Tairov). Roman Viktyuk, following Tairov, abandoned the historical and everyday reproduction of the plot, turning the Wilde’s Salome into a bewitching parable about the artist’s path in a world where love and death coexist.
