Выступления Леонидаса Кавакоса в Московской филармонии по- следних лет отличаются особенной красотой репертуарной сим- метрии, творческих связей и преемственности. Всякий раз это ве- чер в рамках абонемента «Великие инструментальные концерты», и всякий раз прославленный греческий скрипач выступает с Гос- оркестром России. Меняется лишь партнер за дирижерским пуль- том: то худрук ГАСО Владимир Юровский, то сам скрипач на себя берет бразды управления оркестром (в 2007–2009 гг. он руководил оркестром Camerata Salzburg и c тех пор сделал впечатляющую ди- рижерскую карьеру), то, как на этот раз, Александр Сладковский. Завоевывающий все большую популярность, руководитель оркес- тра Татарстана регулярно выступает со светлановцами; во втором отделении он представит свою интерпретацию Седьмой симфонии Бетховена.
В первом отделении прозвучит великий шедевр Брамса, о ко- тором современник и друг композитора Ханс фон Бюлов ска- зал крылатую фразу: «Это концерт не для, а против скрипки». Впрочем, Кавакос уже не раз доказал свою способность блестя- ще исполнять эту сложнейшую партию. В 2013 году он записал концерт Брамса для Decca c оркестром Гевандхауса под управ- лением Риккардо Шайи, затем продолжил «брамсиану» запи- сью сонат (фортепиано — Юйцзя Ван) и заслужил звание «артист года» от влиятельного журнала Gramophone, автор которого пи- сал: «Сомневаюсь, что найдется в мире хотя бы пять скрипачей, которые сравнятся с Кавакосом <...>. Думаю, ему был бы равен Паганини».

The performances of Leonidas Kavakos at the Moscow Philharmonic Society of recent years are distinguished by the special beauty of the repertoire symmetry, creative connections and continuity. Each time it is evening as part of the Great Instrumental Concerts subscription, and each time the renowned Greek violinist performs with the State Orchestra of Russia. Only the partner behind the conductor’s panel changes: either the GASO artistic director Vladimir Yurovsky, the violinist himself takes the reins of the orchestra (in 2007–2009 he led the Camerata Salzburg orchestra and has since made an impressive conducting career), then like this time, Alexander Sladkovsky. Gaining more and more popularity, the head of the orchestra of Tatarstan regularly performs with Svetlanders; in the second section he will present his interpretation of Beethoven's Seventh Symphony.
In the first section, a great Brahms masterpiece will be heard, about which the contemporary and friend of the composer Hans von Bülow said the catch phrase: “This concert is not for, but against the violin”. However, Kavakos has repeatedly proved its ability to brilliantly perform this complex part. In 2013, he recorded Brahms' concert for Decca with the Gewandhaus Orchestra conducted by Riccardo Shayi, then continued the Brahmsiana with sonatas (piano - Yujia Wang) and earned the title “Artist of the Year” from the influential Gramophone magazine, whose author sal: “I doubt that there are at least five violinists in the world who can compare with Kavakos <...>. I think Paganini would be equal to him. "
