Церковь Успения Пресвятой Богородицы на Сенной .
"Церковь Спаса-на-Сенной; церковь во имя Успения Пресвятой Богородицы — утраченная церковь, которая находилась на Сенной площади в Санкт-Петербурге. С 1923 года — собор. Храм являлся памятником позднего барокко. Величественный и просторный храм увенчивали пять куполов, стоявших на многогранных барабанах. В городе церковь была известна под именем Спаса-на-Сенной"

К площади, согласно плану, была подведена Саарская проспектива, соединявшая Петербург с Москвой и практически со всей страной, а на запад от нее проложена Садовая улица, продолжившаяся Петергофской дорогой в Европу. Это ввело Петербург в транспортную сеть страны и включило в экономическую жизнь государства.
В 1961 г. в ночь с 1-е на 2-е февраля церковь Успения Божией Матери была уничтожена. Взрыв был осуществлен по методике, специально разработанной в 1930 гг. и позволявший производить взрывные работы в населенных пунктах – взрыв с миллисекундным замедлением, когда одни за другими обрушивались сначала внутренние несущие конструкции, увлекая за собой купола, последними падали наружные стены.

За минуту до разрушения была сделана фотография слева.
Сколько бесов на фото,прямо таки в предвкушении сноса,
а потом в 91 году в метро Сенная(заместо церкви собственно и было построено метро) обвалилась крыша,точнее козырек 24 тонны и пришибло много людей.Не иначе как отомщение-нельзя было трогать.
И вот последних два года к ряду все было огорожено-я думала новую церковь построят,недавно ограждение сняли,а там....ничего.
