В последние пару дней я тщетно пыталась сформулировать свои мысли по поводу животных из тбилисского зоопарка. Тщетно – потому что меня переполняли эмоции, и мысли никак не обретали удобоваримую форму. А сегодня утром я прочитала пост профессора ВШЭ Сергея Медведева, который сказал именно то, что так хотелось сказать мне:
«Этически сложный пост, но уж простите. Можете кидать в меня грязью и илом. Я очень переживаю трагедию в Тбилиси, погибли люди, тысячи без крова, затоплен солнечный город, живущий в каждой русской душе. Но. Совершенно отдельно для меня стоит история животных из зоопарка, это уже какой-то апокалипсис, Ноев ковчег наоборот – утонувшие пингвины, бродящие по улицам носороги, застреленные тигры и медведи. Но погибшие люди – это жертвы стихии, а убитые животные – жертвы людей. Мы перед ними виноваты дважды – сначала отняли у природы, а затем не смогли спасти от наводнения. Потому что давно пора понять простую истину: зоопарку не место в городе, среди людей, зоопарков не должно быть в мире вообще, в 21 веке это анахронизм, идущий еще от римских цирков, средневековых зверинцев и безжалостной к природе эпохи Модерна. В лучшем случае огромные парки типа Серенгети, где животные на свободе, а люди ездят в клетках на колесах. А в остальном гугл в помощь и Discovery Channel.
При любом социальном, природном и технологическом катаклизме страдают прежде всего животные. При взрыве на Тоцком полигоне коровы и лошади горели целыми стадами и табунами. Сейчас на Свободе висит страшный репортаж из Казахстана: после майского взрыва "Протона" в степи разлился гептил и погибли 100 тысяч (еще раз: сто тысяч!) сайгаков, там кадры, как их самосвалами свозят во рвы. Во время войны в Абхазии был расстрелян уникальный обезьяний питомник в Сухуми, ручные шимпанзе либо убиты, либо разбежались по лесам, где они были жить не приучены и тоже вскоре все погибли.
Это я к тому, что уже пробудились гуманисты: восстановим зоопарк в Тбилиси! Пришлем животных из Москвы! Как будто сейчас в Тбилиси только и ждут спецрейс с пингвинами. Не надо ничего восстанавливать. В память об этой трагедии ЗООПАРКА В ТБИЛИСИ БЫТЬ НЕ ДОЛЖНО, оставшихся животных можно пристроить в другие зоопарки по миру или вернуть в природу (хотя это, скорее всего, не по карману).
И в Москве зоопарка не должно быть тоже! Это одно из самых тяжелых мест в городе, на загазованной Пресне, в сотне метров от Садового кольца, где в страшной тесноте, на территории, спланированной еще в позапрошлом веке, живут тысячи несчастных узников. Никакая любовь и профессионализм работников зоопарка не оправдывают существования этого музея боли и унижения, куда тысячи бестолковых родителей ведут ежедневно своих детей и развращают их видом доступной, безопасной, униженной природы. И тот факт, что многие животные рождены в неволе или только в неволе размножаются или нужны для научных целей, ничего и никого не оправдывает. Зоопарки стоят на ложной библейской идее, что человек это царь природы, перл творения и шмерл создания. Какие мы цари, мы вирус и паразиты, и животные имеют по меньшей мере такие же права на жизнь и свободу, как и мы. Зоопарки должны быть закрыты по этическим соображениям, как акт признания человеком своего скромного места в цепи эволюции, и тбилисская трагедия еще раз напоминает нам об этом».

At best, huge parks such as the Serengeti, where animals are free, and people ride in cages on wheels. And the rest of Google to help and the Discovery Channel.

As if now in Tbilisi they are just waiting for a special flight with penguins. No need to restore anything. In memory of this tragedy, ZOO IN TBILISI SHOULD NOT BE, the remaining animals can be attached to other zoos around the world or returned to nature (although this is most likely not affordable).
And in Moscow there should not be a zoo either! This is one of the most difficult places in the city, on the gassed Presnya, a hundred meters from the Garden Ring, where thousands of unfortunate prisoners live in terrible crowding, on the territory planned as far back as the century before last. No love and professionalism of the zoo workers can justify the existence of this museum of pain and humiliation, where thousands of stupid parents take their children daily and corrupt them with a view of an accessible, safe, humiliated nature. And the fact that many animals were born in captivity or only in captivity reproduce or are needed for scientific purposes does not justify anything. Zoos stand on the false biblical idea that man is the king of nature, the pearl of creation and the shmerl of creation.
