Узнав, что в Новосибирске есть Арка The Beatles, я отправилась на её поиски, но не знала, что именно искать. Арка оказалась самой обычной аркой среди не менее обычных жилых домов.

Там описана её краткая история, в которой не обошлось без Петербурга. Вдохновившись Пушкинской, 10 и улицей Джона Ленонна, новосибирские поклонники The Beatles создали такой "мемориал", призвав на помощь петербургских художников, сделавших барельеф "All you need is love". Говорят, Арка The Beatles в Новосибирске стихийно возникла в 1999 году. Однако местные жители уверяют, что надписи появились еще в начале 80-х, вскоре после убийства Джона Леннона. По сей день поклонники следят за стеной, украшают её плакатами, соответствующими рисунками и надписями. В дни рождения Леннона, Маккартни, Харрисона и Старра в Арке появляются живые цветы и люди с гитарами.
Увидев арку, я удивилась, как она существует, почему на неё не нападют дворники и жители окрестных домов. Оказалось, что местные пенсионеры всё-таки ведут борьбу с этим культурным явлением, аж с 2006-го года, но битломаны пока побеждают.
Как гласит легенда, всё началось с надписи "С Днём Рождения, Леннон"...
