Статуя Свободы была установлена на острове Свободы в 1886 г. в качестве символа свободы и независимости Америки. По факту на острове ничего кроме неё и нет))) Это, наверное, придаёт ещё больше значимости и величия. Смотрится действительно потрясающе, аж дух захватывает!
А конструктивно это медная оболочка на стальном каркасе. И изначально статуя была цвета медной монеты и лишь через 20 лет в результате окисления в среде морского воздуха приобрела бирюзово-зеленоватый цвет.
