Побывал я на чемпионате России по гребному слалому в городе Окуловка Новгородской области. И лишь малая часть впечатлений касалась спорта. Вид спорта клёвый, входит в олимпийскую программу, но развивать его получается лишь на голом энтузиазме. Дорог нет, гребных каналов нет, даже самых примитивных гостиниц для участников и гостей мероприятия не было. Даже с едой трудности. Трасса самодельная, построенная на средства самих спортсменов и тренеров, расположена в торце бумажной фабрики, сливающей в реку Бог знает что. И спортсмены, и гости, и руководители федерации жили в чистом поле. И каких мы медалей после этого хотим?! И такая картина- во многих других видах спорта.
I visited the Russian Championship in rowing slalom in the city of Okulovka, Novgorod Region. And only a small part of the impressions concerned sports. The sport is cool, it is included in the Olympic program, but it is only possible to develop it with bare enthusiasm. There are no roads, there are no rowing canals, even the most primitive hotels for the participants and guests of the event were not. Even with food difficulties. The home-made track, built at the expense of the athletes and trainers themselves, is located at the end of the paper mill that merges into the river. God knows what. And athletes, and guests, and the leaders of the federation lived in the open field. And what kind of medals do we want after that ?! And such a picture is in many other sports.
