Несколько месяцев я вкуривал различные труды, связанные с проблемой сознания. Что такое сознание? Как оно возникает и «возникает» ли? Как сознание связано с мозгом? Возможно ли научное исследование субъективного опыта?
В конечном счёте (в том числе основываясь на анализе личного субъективного опыта) я склонился к модели Вселенной, связанной с неким дуалистическим монизмом. Какой именно из десятков вариантов (http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/neutral-monism/) не скажу. По сути — что физическая материя и сознание это внешний и внутренний аспекты содержания Вселенной, связанные этой дуалистичностью, но не влияющие друг на друга. То есть, «Секрет» и прочие «Трансёрфинги реальности» — лажа, к сожалению.
Наличие субъективного сознания в конкретной физической системе не дискретно и зависит от степени информационной интегрированности системы. Иными словами, камни, мыши, собаки, дельфины и люди обладают сознанием, но имеют разное содержание и разнообразие личного опыта. Коротко это можно назвать «разными степенями» сознания. Скорее всего, мы научимся эти степени измерять. Точно можно предсказать, что «весь Интернет» или приложение Prisma не обладают сознанием.
«Личность», «я», «время», «прошлое», «будущее», «воля», «решение», «внимание» и много всякого другого, что мы приписываем себе, оказываются сконструированными сценами, предъявляемыми сознанию и воспринимаемыми целостно.
И вся эта канитель с невероятной активностью изучается сейчас на стыке философии и нейрофизиологии. Важные ссылки:

Мы ещё очень далеки от детального понимания того, как устроено сознание. Есть и другие конкурирующие теории (например, совершенно мозголомная серия статей Алексея Редозубова на Хабре: https://habrahabr.ru/post/308370/). Но скорость того, как быстро мы открываем новое, потрясает.
Можно задать вопрос «А обычному-то человеку это зачем?» Кроме согласованных ответов на экзистенциальные вопросы, есть и вполне конкретные профессиональные последствия. Например, полезно быть в курсе, что внимание человека может обращаться помимо сознания. И в цепочке принятия решения «внимание» не обязательно потащит за собой интеграцию в опыт определённой информации. Другими словами, привлечь внимание и предъявить стимул — недостаточно для склонения человека к принятию решения. Также полезно быть в курсе, что субъективный чувственный опыт целостен. Именно поэтому User Experience — на порядки более широкая область, чем User Interface или Visual Design. Ну и ряд других следствий есть, про которые я пока только размышляю и про которые буду писать.

In other words, stones, mice, dogs, dolphins and people possess consciousness, but have a different content and variety of personal experience. Briefly, this can be called "different degrees" of consciousness. Most likely, we will learn to measure these degrees. It can be accurately predicted that "the entire Internet" or Prisma application does not have consciousness.
“Personality”, “I”, “Time”, “Past”, “Future”, “Will”, “Decision”, “Attention” and many other things that we attribute to ourselves turn out to be constructed scenes presented to the consciousness and perceived holistically. .

There are other competing theories (for example, a completely brainworm series of Alexey Redozubov’s articles on Habré: https://habrahabr.ru/post/308370/). But the speed of how quickly we discover something new is amazing.
You can ask the question “Is this why an ordinary person?” Apart from coordinated answers to existential questions, there are quite specific professional consequences. For example, it is useful to be aware that a person’s attention can turn beyond consciousness. And in the decision-making chain, “attention” does not necessarily drag integration of certain information into the experience.
