Если это микроорганизмы-симбионты, то почему у одних людей они есть, а у других нет? Почему надо выискивать людей, у которых они есть, вместо того чтоб сделать всем подряд прививки медихлорианов? Как медихлорианы транслируют людям восприимчивость к Силе, да так, что у людей появляется еще и способность сознательно управлять ею? Если у людей восприимчивость к Силе - от медихлорианов, то откуда она у самих медихлорианов, если они - такие же биологические организмы? И почему той же фишки не может быть у самих людей напрямую? И что это за дебильное "зачатие медихлорианами"? как они заменили пакет внутривидовой гаплойдной генетической информации микроорганизмом совершенно чуждого биологического вида?
Кайбер-кристаллы были добавлены в повествование, чтоб построить Звезду Смерти и жахнуть по Джеде; они не призваны ничего объяснять, тем не менее, походя сокращают кое-какие мистические дырья в повествовании. Так, мы не знаем, как работают огненные мечи, для нас этой чистой воды магия. И мы не знаем, как работает Звезда Смерти, для нас это тоже чистой воды магия. Но добавление кайбер-кристаллов превращает два не связанных между собой, взятых с потолка иррациональных допущения в явления одной природы; появляется повторяемость, а значит, возможность хотя бы внутри Далекой-Далекой Галактики изучать явление научным методом. Внутренняя логика повествования не нарушается, и даже укрепляется, потому что в ней сокращается число взятых с потолка допущений, несмотря на то, что для нас вся эта кайбер-кухня остается неведомой магией.

The medichlorians were added to the narrative for the sole purpose of explaining where the Jedi had Force sensitivity; but they do not explain anything, on the contrary, they only create many new uncomfortable questions. If these are symbiotic microorganisms, then why do some people have them and others do not? Why is it necessary to seek out people who have them instead of having to inoculate medchlorins for everyone? How do medichlorians transmit to people susceptibility to the Force, so much so that people also have the ability to consciously control it? If people have a susceptibility to the Force - from medichlorians, then where does it come from medichlorians themselves, if they are the same biological organisms? And why the same chips can not be directly from the people themselves? And what is this moronic "conception of medichlorians"? How did they replace the package of intraspecific haploidal genetic information with a microorganism of a completely alien biological species?

So, we do not know how fire swords work, for us this pure water is magic. And we do not know how the Death Star works, for us it is also pure magic. But the addition of cyber crystals makes two unrelated, irrational assumptions taken from the ceiling into phenomena of the same nature; there is a repeatability, and therefore, the possibility, at least within the Far Far Galaxy, to study the phenomenon by the scientific method. The internal logic of the narrative is not violated, and even strengthened, because it reduces the number of assumptions taken from the ceiling, despite the fact that for us all this kiber-kitchen remains an unknown magic.
