Эпл заявляет "В этом году мы выпустим Мак, и Вы поймете, что система Большого брата (IBM - лидер на тот момент) имеет альтернативу в отличии от безальтернативной фабулы романа "1984" (оттого в конце и текст "Вы поймёте, почему 1984 год не станет как "1984").
20 лет спустя Apple становится слишком популярной. Теперь корпорация сама больше смахивает на Большого брата, жестко регламентируя права пользователей, свободу контента, развитие технологий другими производителями. Компания DoubleTwist, обещает сделать ПО, позволяющее открыть доступ к библиотеке iTunes каждому человеку. И при этом снимает пародию на рекламу Эпл "1984".
