Незадолго до своей смерти Перлз сформулировал так называемую "молитву гештальтиста":
«Я делаю свое, а ты делаешь свое. Я в этом мире не для того, чтобы соответствовать твоим ожиданиям, а ты в этом мире не для того, чтобы соответствовать моим. Ты есть ты, а я есть я. И если нам случится найти друг друга — это прекрасно. Если нет, этому нельзя помочь».
Мы все свободны в своем выборе, действиях, мыслях, эмоциях (хотя последние зачастую слишком по-павловски примитивны) и для меня главный критерий и степень этой свободы выражены в цитате из романа Сомерсета Моэма «Бремя страстей человеческих» (без перевода): «It doesn't matter what a man does if he's ready to take the consequences».
