Несколько дней назад ни с того, ни с сего меня стали одолевать мысли и сны про алмазы, их добычу и огранку и персонаж одного сна настойчиво рекомендовал мне разыскать некий "алмазный огранщик". На утро я с любопытством отправилась в интернет погуглить,что же это могло быть. И нашла неожиданное сокровище - замечательную книгу с этим названием о буддийском подходе к процветанию и бизнесу.
Автор книги - Майкл Роуч, единственный за последние 600 лет иностранец который получил буддийскую ученую степень геше, пройдя полный курс обучения в монастыре в течение 20 лет. Но после защиты ему не суждено было остаться в монастыре и сразу же после защиты его наставник озвучил предложил ему невероятную миссию - отправиться обратно в Нью-Йорк и в 40 с лишним лет с нуля без каких либо связей создать процветающую международную компанию в ювелирном бизнесе, руководствуясь буддийскими принципами.
И ему это удалось. В течение 17 лет компания Andin International прошла путь от стартапа из 4-х человек до мирового лидера в отрасли ювелирных украшений с годовым оборотом $250 000 000 и стала одной из наиболее быстрорастущих компаний Нью-Йорка. Совершенно невероятная история, особенно учитывая специфику бизнеса.
Другая сфера деятельности Майкла - благотворительный фонд Asian Classics Input Project (ACIP), в котором тибетцы занимаются сохранением и переводом в электронную форму классических буддийских трудов. На сайте фонда http://www.asianclassics.org/ редчайшие буддийские материалы доступны для бесплатного скачивания.
Майкл также проводит по всему миру обучение принципам процветания и бизнеса на основе буддийских принципов (сайт института - http://diamondcutterinstitute.com/michael-roach/?lang=ru). Это абсолютно секулярная, подкрепленная реальным деловым опытом, практика развития в себе "щедрого состояния ума" - честного и добродетельного отношения к людям и делу. In the morning, I went curiously to the Internet to google what it could be. And I found an unexpected treasure - a wonderful book with this title about the Buddhist approach to prosperity and business.
The author of the book is Michael Roach, the only foreigner in the last 600 years who received a Buddhist Geshe degree, having completed a full course of training at the monastery for 20 years. But after the defense, he was not destined to stay in the monastery, and immediately after the defense, his mentor announced that he had an incredible mission - to go back to New York and, from 40+ years old from scratch, without any connections, to create a thriving international jewelry company, guided by Buddhist principles.
And he succeeded.
