И вновь я возвращаюсь к любимой теме - отвратительному качеству работы многих российских переводчиков. Смотрю сейчас сериал "Твин Пикс" в оригинале. В одной из серий герой цитирует монолог из "Ричарда III" Шекспира.

Из любопытства решил узнать, как это перевели ребята с Первого канала. То что это стихи - они, слава Богу, поняли. Однако ж. Не воспользовались ни одним из существующих переводов Шекспира, а придумали собственный. И все бы ничего, но они не только добавили в него отсебятины, но еще и переврали смысл на полностью противоположный.
По-настоящему речь тут идет о том, что зима ушла и настало лето. Вот, например:
Здесь нынче солнце Йорка злую зиму
В ликующее лето превратило
(пер. А. Радловой, 1957 г.)
А мастера Первого перевели так:
Уж здесь она, зима тревоги нашей,
Под солнцем Йорка славно воевали мы
(Первый канал)
Мораль: к черту Первый канал

Out of curiosity, I decided to find out how the guys translated from Channel One. The fact that these are verses - they, thank God, understood. However, w. They did not use any of Shakespeare's existing translations, but came up with their own. And all would be fine, but they not only added gaps to it, but also turned the meaning to the completely opposite.
The real thing here is that the winter is gone and summer has come. For example:
Here is now the york sun of the wicked winter
Turned into a jubilant summer
(lane A. Radlova, 1957)
And the masters of the First translated like this:
Already here she is, the winter of our anxiety,
Under the sun of York we fought gloriously
(First channel)
Morality: To hell with Channel One
