Фаро не всегда был Владыкой Замка, он не родился им. Титул Владыки не передаётся по наследству. Вернее, не передавался - до отца Фаро. Именно он, предыдущий Владыка, изменил традицию, создав династию, где титул передавался от отца старшему сыну.
Но и тут Фаро не быть наследником, если бы старший брат-близнец Феро не удумал бы стать пиратом. Отец пытался убедить, приказать, запугать и вновь убедить, но после махнул рукой, поняв, что второй сын гораздо лучше подойдёт, а подданые практически не различали братьев.
Феро ушёл по морям и океанам, достиг определённых успехов на своём поприще и до сих пор оставался отличным послом в дальние страны, а также создавал отличную защиту с моря. А Фаро стал Владыкой, на радость отцу, и вот уже несколько десятилетий успешно управлял вверенными ему землями.
В обязанности Владыки входят многие магические обряды и заклинания, а значит жизнь Владык всегда длилась очень и очень долго. Способов достижения долголетия Фаро накопил несколько десятков.
На данный момент Фаро ощущал себя бесконечно старым. Пора было задуматься о наследнике, но вот он же не может взяться из ниоткуда. И, хотя муж сей вниманием женским обделен не был, свадебный переполох ещё ни разу не маячил в Замке. И детские крики со времён детства Фаро не раздавались в этих стенах. Не стало матери, а затем и отца, Феро уже обзавёлся дюжиной детишек и не менее, чем тремя женами, конечно де, в разных концах света, а сердце Фаро так и не смогла покорить ни одна красавица.
Множество смотрин, якобы случайных встреч с дочками влиятельных особ, совпадений... И ни одного попадания. Владыке вообще не обязательно жениться, закон ничего не запрещает.
И вот Фаро во время налета Градджи знакомится с Мари, верной спутницей юного Кофейного Дракона.
Кажется, мир уже готов перевернуться....

Faro was not always the Lord of the Castle, he was not born to them. The title of the Lord is not inherited. Or rather, it was not transmitted - to Father Faro. The duties of the Lord include many magical rites and spells, which means the life of the Lords has always lasted very, very long. Faro has accumulated dozens of ways to achieve longevity.
At the moment, Faro felt infinitely old. It was time to think about the heir, but he could not come from nowhere. And, although this husband was not deprived of the attention of women, the wedding commotion has never loomed in the Castle. And the children's cries since Faro’s childhood have not been heard within these walls. There was no mother, and then father, Fera had already got a dozen children and no less than three wives, of course, in different parts of the world, and Faro’s heart could not win any beauty.
