День 6. Афины
Афины - очень большой красивый и интересный город и без Акрополя. Он лежит в долинах гор и просто гулять, забираясь на вершины и осматривая окрестности, классно.
Приятно заметить, что греки ничуть не изменились со времен античности. Они, конечно, не носят тоги, но их лица как ожившие статуи или помпейские фрески. Аполлонов я не приметила, но несколько Посейдонов и Зевсов точно видела, пока мы ехали в метро. Сразу вспомнилось хрестоматийное "Гречанки выходят за греков, чтобы рожать греков" :-))
Греческая кухня, с которой мы с Русланом уже немного знакомы благодаря визиту на Кипр и которая не произвела на нас никакого впечатления, здесь в Афинах открылась с новой стороны. Направляясь к порту от станции метро Пиреус, мы набрели на ресторан национальной кухни Old Baker's. Ели мусаку. Она великолепна как блюдо высокой кухни и совершенно не вписывается в деревенский интерьер с клетчатыми скатертями.
Облом 1: на Акрополе к античности не подобраться. Все исторические руины огорожены и смотреть на красоту можно метров с 20, не ближе, и, конечно, ни один древний камень нельзя тронуть. Круче всего огорожен Эрехтейон - так, что даже кариатид не разглядеть. Парфенон весь в лесах и в огромных строительных кранах. Некрасиво.
Облом 2: толпы туристов везде, на подходе, на вершине, у храмов, на смотровой площадке. Эта толкотня реально мешает проникнуться красотой места. Приходите рано утром или поздно вечером, а еще лучше не в сезон.

Day 6. Athens
Athens is a very large beautiful and interesting city without the Acropolis. He lies in the valleys of the mountains and just walking, climbing to the peaks and exploring the surroundings, is cool.
It is pleasant to note that the Greeks have not changed at all since antiquity. They certainly don’t wear togas, but their faces are like living statues or Pompeii frescoes. I did not notice the Apollons, but I definitely saw several Poseidons and Zeus while we were riding the subway. I immediately remembered the textbook "Greek women marry the Greeks to give birth to the Greeks" :-))
Greek cuisine, with which Ruslan and I are already a little familiar thanks to a visit to Cyprus and which did not make any impression on us, opened here in Athens from a new perspective. Heading to the port from the Piraeus metro station, we came across Old Baker's national cuisine restaurant. They ate Moussaka. It is magnificent as a gourmet dish and does not fit into the rustic interior with checkered tablecloths.
Oblom 1: on the Acropolis you cannot get close to antiquity. All historical ruins are fenced and you can look at the beauty from 20 meters, not closer, and, of course, not a single ancient stone can be touched. Erechtheion is fenced most of all - so that even caryatids cannot be discerned. Parthenon is all in the woods and in huge construction cranes. Ugly.
Bummer 2: crowds of tourists everywhere, on the way, on top, near the temples, on the observation deck. This crush really impedes the beauty of the place. Come early in the morning or late in the evening, and even better not in season.
