Очень не типичная ассоциация у меня возникла от Нижнего Новгорода - мне показалось, что он немного похож на Стамбул высокими мостами через Оку и рельефом. Ока, сливающаяся с Волгой, напомнила мне Золотой Рог, впадающий в пролив между Мраморным и Черным морями. В остальном же НН - очень русский город с богатой историей, древними церквями, красивыми видами на Волгу и на сам город. К сожалению, видно, что городу не хватает денег, в центре много ветхих зданий, метро очень странно организовано: вместо того, чтобы строить станции в историческом центре (сейчас здесь одна станция Горьковская), власти тянут вторую ветку метро к строящемуся новому стадиону, хотя местные говорят, что там им метро вовсе не нужно. Еще говорят, что все деньги уходят в этот стадион. Про канатную дорогу до Бора даже не буду здесь писать - штука исключительно для развлечения туристов, местным от нее стало жить немногим легче. Нижегородцы гордятся своими земляками: Мининым и Пожарским, спасшими Москву от поляков, Максимом Горьким, цитаты из которого попадаются на памятных досках на домах ("нет сил, которые могли затемнить факел, поднятый Лениным") и высечены из камня (опять про новый мир!), летчиком Чкаловым. #нижнийновгород
I did not have a very typical association from Nizhny Novgorod - it seemed to me that it was a bit like Istanbul with high bridges across the Oka and relief. Oka, merging with the Volga, reminded me of the Golden Horn, which flows into the strait between the Sea of Marmara and the Black Sea. For the rest, NN is a very Russian city with a rich history, ancient churches, beautiful views of the Volga and the city itself. Unfortunately, it is clear that the city doesn’t have enough money, in the center there are a lot of dilapidated buildings, the metro is very strangely organized: instead of building stations in the historical center (now there is one Gorkovskaya station), the authorities are pulling a second metro line to the new stadium under construction, although locals say they don't need the subway there. They also say that all the money goes to this stadium. I will not even write about the cable way to Bora here - the thing is solely for the amusement of tourists; it has become a little easier for local people to live from it. Nizhny Novgorod are proud of their countrymen: Minin and Pozharsky, who saved Moscow from the Poles, Maxim Gorky, quotes from which are found on memorial plaques on houses (“there are no forces that could darken the torch raised by Lenin”) and carved out of stone (again about the new world! ), pilot Chkalov. #Nizhny Novgorod
