Несмотря на внешнюю простоту, Айгер оставался последней "нерешённой задачей Альп" аж до 30-х годов XX века. Гора действительно технически сложная и, когда заходишь выше станции Eiger Gletcher все отчетливее понимаешь серьёзность маршрута: уклоны здесь достигают 70 градусов, а на скалах появляются памятные таблички с именами погибших здесь альпинистов. @ Eigergletscher railway station
