Осматривая свиток-какэмоно в нише-токонома и цветы в вазе очищают глаза;
вдыхая аромат благовоний, очищают нос;
слушая звуки кипящей в котле воды и капель, падающих из бамбукового желоба, очищают уши;
пробуя чай, очищают рот;
беря в руки чайную утварь, очищают органы осязания.
Во время очищения шести “корней” сознание само по себе очищается от скверны»..
