Между тем, совершенно незаметно умерла инициатива Собянина по проведению ежемесячных встреч префектов и министров московской мэрии с жителями. Сейчас очевидно, что инициатива эта носила исключительно предвыборный характер. Перед выборами мэра нужно было если не показать, то хотя бы сымитировать открытость власти и прямой доступ москвичей к высоким начальникам. Во время прошлогодней избирательной кампании, в некоторых административных округах проводилось чуть ли не по две-три таких встречи в месяц. В юго-западный округ, например, в мае 2013 года приехала целая делегация московских министров - абсолютно все руководители департаментов социального блока мэрии во главе с вице-мэром Печатниковым.
При этом исполнение собянинской идеи даже во время предвыборной кампании, когда требовалась особая деликатность, аккуратность и минимум скандалов, уже хромала. Чтобы создать руководителям мэрии комфортную обстановку и исключить неудобные вопросы и критику, зал для встречи заранее наполнялась на 95 % сотрудниками бюджетных учреждений. А собственно жителям района предлагалось перейти в соседний зал с видеотрансляцией, откуда невозможно задать вопрос выступающим. Так было в том числе и на упомянутой выше встрече министров социального блока с жителями ЮЗАО.
