Вычитал интересное про аутизм. Есть такой британский психолог, академик Саймон Барон Коэн (не путать с Сашей Барон Коэном, это его двоюродный брат!), он всю жизнь изучает аутизм, автор двух теорий аутизма ну и вообще уважаемый человек.
В 1998 он написал статью, у которой 223 цитирования: "Does Autism Occur More Often in Families of Physicists, Engineers, and Mathematicians?" Как несложно догадаться по названию - ответ утвердительный. Да, у детей и внуков физиков и математиков чаще диагностируют аутизм.
"12.5% of the fathers and 21.2% of the grandfathers (both paternal and maternal) of children with autism were engineers, compared to 5% of the fathers and 2.5% of the grandfathers of children with other syndromes."
Методология, правда, немного хромает, но всё равно как интересно!
"Students in Cambridge University, studying one of these three subjects (physics, engineering, and mathematics), were screened anonymously for cases of autism in their families. Relative to a control group of students studying literature, autism was reported to occur significantly more often in families of students in the fields of physics, engineering, and mathematics. Such results are consistent with the prediction. This study necessarily involved anonymous self-report methods, so the reliability and validity of diagnoses are unknown. Future replications should attempt a non-anonymous study so as to establish if this association is robust."
