Интересная сага о том, как отец при помощи тогда еще экспериментального экзомного секвенирования пытается найти диагноз своего сына. Очень примечательно поведение врачей – каждый из них тянет к своему «знакомому» диагнозу. Так же примечательно использование отдельных гентических тестов, вместо того чтобы сразу сделать экзом. Интересно, что в таких случаях весьма тяжело отличать побочные эффекты лекарств от проявления болезни, что только затрудняет диагностику. Страшно представить, через что проходит семья, получая один смертельный диагноз за другим и при этом решаясь всё-таки завести еще одного ребенка.
Это хороший кейс для разбора типичных трудностей «диагностической Одиссеи» и возможностей кооперации лечащих врачей, врачей-генетиков, ученых-генетиков, пациентов и производителей лекарств.
