Michael Cavendish, "Wandring in this place"
Michael Cavendish (1565 – 1628) was an English composer of madrigals and airs of the Elizabethan and Jacobean periods. He spent much time at court and was for a time composer to the future King Charles I of England. "His melodic lines were pleasant and seemingly popular and he had a penchant for inserting triple-timed measures into otherwise duple-metered verses." (Keith Johnson) In 1598 he published a set of songs with lute accompaniment, called Ayres in Tabletorie. He also collaborated with Thomas Morley (1557 or 1558 - 1602)
