Victor de Montbuysson. Chorea Reinwaldi (N3)
The lutenist Victor de Montbuysson, born in Avignon about 1570, served for thirty-two years, from 1595 to 1627, at the court of Duke Moritz, Landgrave of Hesse-Cassel. Although his French origin is mentioned in the archives of Marburg and in the signature of some of his pieces published in Germany, he is sometimes designated in the entourage of the duke by a Germanic translation of his name - "von Bergwald".
