Marco Buongiorno Nardelli is a University Distinguished Research Professor at the University of North Texas, a computational materials physicist, a composer, flutist, and a member of iARTA (the Initiative for Advanced Research in Technology and the Arts). He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and of the Institute of Physics, a founding member of the AFLOW Consortium and a Parma Recordings artist. His research activities are focused on the application of ab initio electronic structure techniques to the theoretical study of important aspects of the physics of materials. Also, current research programs in his group (ERMES) focus on various aspects in the fields of computational materials and high-performance simulations.
