Fading away like the stars in the morning
Losing their light in the glorious sun
Thus shall we pass from this earth and its toiling
Only remembered for what we have done

Shall we be missed when others succeed us,
Reaping the fields we in spring time have sown?
Nay, for the sower shall pass from his labor,
Only remembered for what he has done.

Only the truth in the fife we have spoken
Only the seed that in life we have sown
These shall pass onwards when we are forgotten
Only remembered for what we have done

Who'll sing the anthem and who'll tell the story
Will the line hold will it scatter and run
Shall we at last be united in glory
Only remembered for what we have done

Звёзды растаяли на небе синем:
Славное солнце их выжгло дотла.
Так же и мы эту землю покинем,
Помнимы только по нашим делам.

Может, потомки по нам заскучают,
Рожь собирая по нашим полям?
Нет, ибо пахарь с полей исчезает,
Помнимый только, увы, по делам...

Истины песню несли мы по свету.
Жизни ростки мы оставили вам,
Что расцветут, когда мы канем в Лету,
Помнимы только по нашим делам.

Кто отпоёт нас? Кто сложит былину,
Где будут правда и баснь пополам?
Станем ли в славе гремящей едины,
Помнимы вечно по нашим делам?
