Вспомнилось тут. Пару месяцев назад посещали этнографический музей Rautenstrauch-Joest в Кёльне, совершенно не похожий ни на один музей в России из тех, где я был. По-немецки опрятный, я бы даже сказал рафинированный, идеально выстроенный, а ещё он интерактивный - многие вещи можно потрогать, повключать разные приборы, рассказывающие об устройстве мира. В папуасском углу даже костром пахнет.
Так вот, к чему это я. Была там одна совершенно изумительная экспозиция, где все основные религии мира, представленные камнями с соответствующими символами, стояли рядом в линию, а различные атрибуты каждой религии без особой системы размещены вокруг этих камней.
Гуляя по этой комнате, я испытывал гордость за нас, людей, человечество в целом, способное отказаться от своих предрассудков и страхов (перед конечностью жизни, в частности) и поместить все эти элементы веры не в храмы с молитвами и благоговением, а туда, где им самое место, где на них смотрят не со страхом или надеждой, где перед ними не встают в различные сакраментальные позы и не произносят никаких слов с ожиданием лучшей жизни.
Где на них можно посмотреть просто как на элемент культуры.
И раз уж поколение наших родителей доросло до такой степени разумности, что способно, не вдаваясь в крайности с бомбёжкой храмов и прочим, оценить вклад религий в развитие человечества и, не уничтожая атрибуты этих религий, разместить их в музее, то, я думаю, полный отказ от священности любой религии в мире - это дело нашего с вами поколения. Мы достаточно взрослы для этого.
А теперь ещё немного о другом оставшемся зле на Земле, время которого подходит к концу. Это зло - суверенитет. Страны в своих границах, охраняющих непонятно что.
Аргумент 1. Мы с вами уже не в том мире, где качество жизни людей и общая успешность народа определяется богатствами, погребёнными под землёй, и размером территории. Сравнить хотя бы Россию с любым европейским карликом, Кореей. Или Штаты с любой маленькой африканской страной, Эритреей, там. Корреляции между богатством территории внутри границы и счастьем людей внутри этой границы нет. Охранять нечего, кроме глупых амбиций а-ля мы самые...
Аргумент 2. Вся история человечества - это история объединения. Сначала воевали племена за ресурсы, потом группы людей побольше, состоящие из многих племён, так эти объединения росли, через феодальные владения, штаты, земли, доросли до стран, ещё несколько веков назад воевавших сами за себя, и вот мы видим, что страны могут объединяться.
Этой весной я посетил одно место, которое произвело на меня, наверно, такое же впечатление, как комната религий в музее. Это точка соединения границ трёх стран - Германии, Бельгии и Нидерландов. Просто столбик в этом месте. Неподалёку от него - шлагбаумы и пограничная вышка. Ничто из этого больше не работает. Никаких людей в форме и с оружием вокруг - просто пересекаешь границу - и ты уже идёшь по Бельгии. Или разом можно оказаться в трёх странах. Но на самом деле, физически этой границы больше нет, только линия на земле. Не граница это больше.
Полное освобождение от границ, виз и прочих формальностей при посещении совершенно любой точки земного шара любым человеком, освобождение от любых форм ксенофобии, включая религию, расовую неприязнь, любые попытки контроля безобидных желаний других людей - это тоже наше дело. Я думаю, мы справимся. У нас есть важное преимущество перед предыдущими поколениями.

I remembered here. A couple of months ago we visited the ethnographic museum Rautenstrauch-Joest in Cologne, which is completely unlike any other museum in Russia from those where I was. In German it is neat, I would even say refined, perfectly built, and it is also interactive - you can touch many things, turn on various devices that tell about the structure of the world. The Papuan corner even smells of a fire.
So that's what I am for. There was one absolutely amazing exposition, where all the main religions of the world, represented by stones with corresponding symbols, stood side by side in a line, and various attributes of each religion without a special system are placed around these stones.
Walking around this room, I felt pride for us, people, humanity as a whole, able to abandon its prejudices and fears (of the finitude of life, in particular) and place all these elements of faith not in temples with prayers and reverence, but where they are the very place where they are not looked at with fear or hope, where they do not stand in front of them in various sacramental poses and do not utter any words with the expectation of a better life.
Where you can look at them simply as an element of culture.
And since the generation of our parents has grown to such a degree of rationality that it is able, without going to extremes with bombing churches and other things, to assess the contribution of religions to the development of mankind and, without destroying the attributes of these religions, place them in a museum, then, I think, a complete rejection of the sacredness of any religion in the world is the business of our generation. We're old enough for that.
And now a little more about another remaining evil on Earth, the time of which is coming to an end. This evil is sovereignty. Countries within their borders, guarding it is not clear what.
Argument 1. You and I are no longer in the world where the quality of life of people and the general success of the people is determined by the wealth buried under the ground and the size of the territory. Compare at least Russia with any European dwarf, Korea. Or the States with any small African country, Eritrea, over there. There is no correlation between the wealth of a territory within the border and the happiness of people within that border. There is nothing to protect, except for stupid ambitions a la we are the most ...
Argument 2. The whole history of mankind is a history of unification. First, tribes fought for resources, then groups of larger people, consisting of many tribes, so these associations grew, through feudal possessions, states, lands, grew to countries that fought for themselves several centuries ago, and now we see that countries can unite.
This spring I visited a place that probably made the same impression on me as the religion room in a museum. This is the junction point of the borders of three countries - Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. Just a post in this place. Not far from it there are barriers and a border tower. None of this works anymore. No people in uniform and with weapons around - you just cross the border - and you are already walking through Belgium. Or you can be in three countries at once. But in fact, physically this border no longer exists, only a line on the ground. It's not a border anymore.
Complete exemption from borders, visas and other formalities when visiting absolutely anywhere in the world by any person, exemption from any form of xenophobia, including religion, racial hostility, any attempts to control the harmless desires of other people - this is also our business. I think we can handle it. We have an important advantage over previous generations.
