Финал — полнейший разнос. Конечно, это достойная победа американца, он показал игру высшего класса. Но россиянин был более чем достойным соперником, все игры в финале были очень близкими, и очень хотелось, чтобы Россия наконец-то впервые в истории взяла чемпионский титул на крупнейшем мировом турнире #QuakeCon по #QuakeLive. Особенно победы хотелось с учётом того, что в ходе соревнования Сергей победил одного из многократных чемпионов — белоруса Алексея Янушевского.
Однако не судьба :( Представитель штатов продемонстрировал абсолютное хладнокровие в своей игре, что позволило ему на максимум отыграть свой стиль и допустить минимальное количество ошибок. Сергей Орехов же, напротив, во всех играх выглядел достаточно напряжённым и волнующимся. Я абсолютно уверен, что именно этот психологический момент определи исход турнира. Потому что когда Сергей собирает нервы в кулак и играет свою игру, у его соперника — Шейна Хедриксона — мало шансов.
Пик эмоций на лице Сергея виден на кадре ниже — россиянин делает фраг и ведёт игру со счётом 4-3 за 1 минуту до конца матча. Эта эмоция играет с нашим бойцом злую шутку, он теряет осторожность и буквально через 30 секунд Шейн, сохраняющий абсолютное спокойствие и poker face на протяжении всех игр, возвращает фраг, делая счёт 4-4, а в скорости и забивает окончательный «гол» в ворота #РФ.
Отдельно хочу отметить, что у Сергея проблема с английским языком, на интервью после своих побед в ходе турнира ему приходилось брать переводчика, а всё остальное время лишь догадываться о смысле того, что говорят окружающие. Из-за этого он был заметно не в своей тарелке и ключевая характеристика победы — собранность — пострадала.
